Science on wheels: EU delivers hands-on experiments to schools across Turkey
The EU Delegation to Turkey, in cooperation with the German Embassy in Turkey and the EU Information Centres Network, brings students closer to science and innovation. The EU Science Caravan will tour 20 cities between January and June 2019 and will visit second grade schools particularly targeting disadvantaged groups in remote districts.
The EU Science Caravan promotes and supports curiosity among children and encourages them to “dream, design and produce”. The 9m-long caravan will travel a total of 6.600 km in 5 months to host over 12.000 students in secondary schools. The caravan, specifically designed for a generation that dreams, designs and produces, will offer participatory workshops on wooden modelling, robotic-coding, 3D modelling and 3D printing.
The event is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Convention of the Rights of the Child with a focus on advancing children’s rights in the age of Artificial Intelligence as children and young people across the globe will be the most impacted by the growth of AI technologies and applications.
The EU Science Caravan set off from Ankara on 7 January. Please click here to check out when the caravan visits your city.
