EU Economic Counsellors visit Eskisehir to strengthen relations with local partners
Mr Bartosz Przywara, Head of the Trade Section of the EU Delegation to Turkey, together with the Economic Counsellors of EU Member State Embassies to Turkey, visited Eskişehir on 6-7 December 2018. The EU Economic Counsellors held meetings with Mr Özdemir Çakacak, Governor of Eskişehir, Mr Yılmaz Büyükerşen, Mayor of Eskişehir and Mr Metin Güler, President of Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce.
Site visits to the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP), TUSAŞ Engine Industries, TÜLOMSAŞ and the EU-funded project “Regeneration Model for accelerating the smart URBAN transformation” in Tepebaşı Municipality of Eskişehir also featured in the programme.
The purpose of the visit was to acquaint the EU Member States’ Economic Counsellors based in Turkey with the important role the region of Eskişehir plays in the Turkish economy and inform them about current trends in its economic development.
In that respect, major industrial sites and companies based in Eskişehir area were selected for site visits alongside a successful project on urban development funded by the EU in Tepebaşı Municipality. The visit also served as an opportunity to meet with local authorities and representatives of the business community to exchange views and further strengthen relations with local actors.
